Only East-facing doors are auspicious.
While the East is traditionally favourable, provided the door is placed in the Positive energy zone. The E-3 and E 4 are the Zones (Padas as said in Sanskrit). But that doesn't mean that only the East entrance is favorable. Infact, every main direction has 2 Auspicious Entrance Zones each, taking it to 8 nos and 2 more in NE and the SSE add up to the Auspicious Entrances.
A staircase opposite the main door is always bad.
This is not true. It depends on the direction, spacing, and energy flow. A staircase is the principal element in a building which connects the upper floors and in turn to our premises as well. The orientation of a staircase does matter but having a staircase opposite the entrance has no relevance in itself.
The main door should never face another house’s main door.
Facing another main door is common in urban settings. It is very obvious in today's scenario and that doesn't matter at all.
The door must be in the exact centre of the wall.
